Using the Advanced Search

The Search app's Advanced search function is similar to a traditional database search in that you can enter one or more text based values to search through the metadata of all of the assets known to Avid Content Core. Common metadata fields include the name of the asset, the creation date or date range, comments stored within the asset, and more.

The Avid Content Core Search app supports word stemming for fields of type: text. Stemming allows you to search for a root word and have the engine return hits related to that word. For example a search for the word “fish” might return hits for “fish”, “fishes”, “fishing”, “fished”, or others.

n Partial word searches are not supported. For example, you cannot search for "tent" and see a result for "Content".
