Configuring the Web Editor Settings

The Web Editor includes a number of settings that allow you to configure default settings and options that apply to all users.

This topic is divided into the following sections:

n The Avid Content Core Web Editor app is powered by Cutting Room — an Avid Technology partner. As such, you might see references to Cutting Room in certain areas of these settings.

General Settings

This section describes the features that are available in the General section of the Web Editor Settings.

Setting the Allowed Frame Rates

Whenever you create a new sequence, you can define the frame rate for that sequence. The options that you enable in this section are displayed when a user creates a new sequence. If you want to change the frame rate, you must do so before adding the first asset to the Sequence Timeline. After that point, the frame rate is locked and cannot be changed.

While most of the options in this panel are self explanatory, the Same as Source option requires some additional detail. This feature allows the system to automatically set the sequence frame rate, based on the first asset that you add to the sequence.

To configure the available frame rates:

  1. Click the Web Editor Settings button in the Administrator Fast Bar and select General Settings from the app’s sidebar.

  2. Expand the "Set Allowed Frame Rates" section to reveal the available options.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • Enable the types of sequence frame rates that you want to allow within your organization.

    • Deselect the check boxes to disable these frame rates.

    • Click the Select All or Clear All buttons to enable or disable all options.

n You must select at least one frame rate before you can save these settings.

  4. Click the Save button to save your selection.

Downloading Content

After you create a sequence, you can click the Render button under the Editor's Record monitor to trigger the creation of your possible outputs. If you enable the "allow" toggle, users see a Download tab in the list of potential outputs. This feature allow individual users to save local copies of the rendered output.

Administrators might want to consider disabling this feature if you are working with sensitive content, or if security of the intellectual property is at a premium.
