Applying Toolbar Filters
You can apply the following filters from the Tasks app toolbar:
-
My Day/ Recent (toggles). One of the following can be applied at a time, but both can be disabled:
-
My Day: Shows all tasks assigned to you that have a Due Date in the past or today and the Status "In progress" or "Not started".
-
Recent: Shows all tasks you are allowed to see that have been created or modified during the last 24 hours.
Applying either of these filters disables any Due Date filter selected in the sidebar and vice versa.
-
-
All / My Tasks / Unassigned (toggles). One of the following can be applied at a time:
-
All: Shows all tasks you are allowed to see (enabled by default).
-
My Tasks: Shows all tasks assigned to you.
-
Unassigned: Shows all tasks that are not assigned to a user.
One filter is always active.
-
-
Filter tasks by name. In addition to the predefined, non-modifiable filters, you can use the Search filtering control to display only tasks that include the provided search term in the Name property. All other tasks will be hidden.
Note the following:
-
Filters are cumulative. For example, if you apply a My Tasks filter and then filter by task name, the second filter is applied to the already filtered tasks list.
-
When you close the Tasks app, all filters are reset to initial state and an entered task name filter is removed from the "Search" filtering control.
-
Basically, there is no difference how toolbar and sidebar filters are applied to the tasks in List view or Board view. For information on a few specific effects in Board view, see Interaction with Toolbar and Sidebar Filters.
-
Applied filters persist when you toggle between List and Board view.
To toggle between My Day and Recent:
-
To apply the filter, click on the gray My Day or Recent toggle button so it turns blue.
-
To disable the filter, click on the blue My Day or Recent toggle button so it turns gray.
To toggle between All, My Tasks and Unassigned:
-
To apply the filter, click on the gray All, My Tasks or Unassigned toggle button so it turns blue.
To filter by task name:
-
Click in the "Search" field and type the word you want to search for.
While you type, a "contains" search is applied; you do not need to type the entire word. Searching for multiple words is not supported. Only tasks that include your search term in the Name field are shown in the Tasks area.
To remove the task name filter, click the X button that is shown to the right side of the Search field.
